As Told to the Westler Valley Voice by Matta A. Rhymes
WESTLER'S COUNTRYSIDE — My little rascals, I fear it's time to tell you one of the saddest tales of my life. It was bound to happen, eventually. Now is the time to hitch up my boots, put on my big girl britches, and tell you about how I lost my very best friend and goose, my first Petra.
By this story I'm about to tell you, you might think I was younger than I actually was because that goose was the very first dear thing to me that I lost. So, I didn't quite understand it when it happened, nor the second, third or fourth time really. Ma thought I just wasn't listen'in. It took my Uncle Mac explain'in it to me in his unique ways before I finally got it. Petra was gone. But! I could still say goodnight to her if I wanted to – however, that little bit comes later on in the story.
