A Little About the Stories

Three Blind Mice

Matta is just having a really bad day . She believes the only way she can shake herself out of it is to have a hoot of a time. The only ones who can give her that are the 3 Blind Mice (The town Troublemarkers) down at the Red Fox Inn.

Bedtime

Three part Gramma G story (and Matta's favorite) of how the Pirate ends up in Mermaid infested waters. Even though he loaths mermaids, convinced they are evil, and are definitely trying to kill him…

Then-

One saves his life and he's forced to see things just a little different.

Tweedle-Dum & Tweedle-Dee

This is a two part story of Matta's first year in school. We get to see how she meets her best friend, Anne. How she gains a nemesis in Michael. And, for the first time, we are introduced to the man that she still loves to this day.

Old Woman, Old Woman

This two part story is of Westler's oddest citizen, Miss Marscals Maypum.

Many believe her to be a witch who lives in her sideways house in the middle of the woods. The red smoke that comes from her chimney is the only way people know she's alive. It's not until that smoke stops coming out daily that the Lord Mayor asks Matta to go with him to see if the old woman is alright.

Matta's Pa was having a bad day. He becomes cross, which he never is. He yells at everyone around him, including his little princess, Matta. Which he never ever does. Matta is so beside herself that she has to turn to her Ma for help… which, of course, she never usually does. Until now.
