Endless Puddle Jumping, Tadpole King Still at Large

As Told to the Westler Valley Voice by Matta A. Rhymes

WESTLER, NEAR UNCLE MAC'S FARM — It was the year of the 'ever-lastin' rain, my little rascals. In this story, we were at the start of it. A month of rain had passed, maybe? The mud was so thick on the streets that it could hold your boots in place on your feet, and the crick was already a mess down by Uncle Mac's farm.

Yes! That's the infamous 'Old MacDonald' everyone talks so much about. Don't worry, I'll explain about EI & O later, but for right now, it's all about Little Johnny.

Back to Uncle Mac's farm — on a good summer's day, I would commonly go down to the bank, dip my toes into the water, and do a little crick walkin' in my water waders. Unfortunately, the banks were the first to flood durin' that rain, and I couldn't get anywhere near the bank.

I was on my way down to my uncle's farm when I saw Little Johnny, one of the town's children, standin' in his knee-high water waders and an oversized raincoat that looked like his eldest brother had given it to him. He held his umbrella high above his head, as high as he could. In fact, if I recall correctly, he was on his tippy toes.

All of a sudden, the boy spun around three times, real quick, jumped up and down twice in the mud, sprayin' it in every which direction, and then spit over his shoulder.
