As Told to the Westler Valley Voice by Matta A. Rhymes
THE DICKENS FARM, WESTLER — I know this rhyme is lesser known by you, my little rascals. But I can say, this tale was one for the books! Well, at least Petra would say so.
No surprise, there are flaws about it and you already know I'm about to straighten it all back out again!
Let me start with, I didn't buy the eggs, but instead, they were given to me as a 'thank you' gift. Also, they weren't chickens but ducks. Now that we got that all sorted, I can go on with the story.
Mr. Dickens is the most respected farmer in town. He sits on all the important boards, includin' the council that considered gettin' rid of Jack Horner. Many wanted him to run for Lord Mayor, but he kept sayin', "I'm more interested in farmin', not govern'in."
It was maybe five or so years ago when we had a big 'thunder bumper' storm with lots of jigger jaggers shootin' across the sky. Durin' this particular storm, a jigger came down and struck Mr. Dickens's barn, settin' it ablaze.
