Bad Day Changes Little Girl's World!

As Told to the Westler Valley Voice by Matta A. Rhymes

THE RHYMES FARM, WESTLER — My little rascals, it's no secret that my Ma and Pa are pretty head over feet in love with each other. Lori and I really lucked out on that one. Though I remember the events, I witnessed AND experienced when I was younger, that made me realize just how much. Who knew love could be so painful?

Anyhoo - Movin' on with the story, I remember hearin' a bunch of commotion down in the kitchen one morning. Pots and pans clanked on the floor, or was it the wall? I certainly think the wall next to my bed made a clunk noise that bounced up from downstairs.

Wasn't sure exactly what was goin' on. In fact, I don't think I ever knew what Pa said that got Ma so agitated. But man, was she mad.

When I wandered downstairs into the kitchen, I found Ma and Pa hollerin' at each other. Well. Ma was doin' most of the hollerin' and Pa would calmly respond, and then duck out of the way of her fury. The conversation only became more intense when Ma picked up another pot and threw it at Pa's head.

Can't say I'm often confounded, but I certainly was that morning as I watched all that mess. Honestly, my parents never really fought, so that day was a very unusual one, indeed.
