As Told to the Westler Valley Voice by Matta A. Rhymes
DICKENS FARM, WESTLER — It was one of those days, my little rascals. You know, those days when you should've just stayed in bed.
Let me start with the fact that it was rainin' somethin' fierce outside with a couple thunder bumpers mixed in. Then, the jigger jaggers came and lit up the sky. My goodness, did it get my ticker goin'!
I knew how bad that storm was before it woke me, and you know how I knew?
It wasn't because I was hearin' endless booms that rattled my window, nor was it the clitter clatter of peltin' down rain!
No!
Instead, it was the large drip drops that leaked through my thatched roof and landed right on my face! Water soaked both me and the nightgown I was wearin' right through.
This uncomfortable situation I found myself in caused me to try to hop out of bed. TRY bein' the operative word here. As soon as my feet hit the ground, they landed straight into a puddle, and they went to slidin' out from underneath me. I assure you this, my little rascals, I bruised my arm when I smacked it against the bed frame when I was on my way down to the floor.
